Watts and lumens are not useful in the evaluation of grow lights. Watts are a measurement of how much electricity your light is using. Lumens show how much light a light source emits, but not how much of that light reaches a plant, nor how much of that light is useful for plants. A good way to test a light is to measure it with a PAR Meter. If you like having purple lights in your home, they can work well. I prefer a more natural look, so I generally use white / yellow lights. They are as good as purple lights, often better. Whether you use purple or white lights, only use lights that someone has measured to confirm they are strong enough. [su_menu name=”main”]
